The company seeks to maintain that status by continually proving itself on distinguished and challenging projects, and its current work with the Army Corps of Engineers on the four-star U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and the three-star U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC) headquarters project at Fort Bragg, N.C., has helped further that aim. This $300 million project was the largest award in the Savannah District and one of the largest for the entire Army Corps of Engineers in the 2008 fiscal year. As part of the Army’s 2005 Base Realignment and Closure act, the FORSCOM and USARC headquarters – which are located at two separate headquarters at Fort McPherson, Ga. – will come together in one building in Fort Bragg, N.C., by September 2011. The project encompasses 700,000 square feet of building throughout six facilities: A command headquarters building, four information technology buildings and an energy plant. These will house nearly 2,800 personnel. The headquarters will provide office space, District’s history. The architecture blends in with surrounding historic buildings. Exterior brick finishes have been upgraded and gallery space enhanced. They will be the focal point of this district and all of Fort Bragg.” The project is furthering Fort Bragg Master Planning’s more than 10-year vision of advancing and modernizing its facilities and infrastructure, Bingham adds.
