Featuring instruction laboratories and lecture halls, the five-story building is a fourfloor concrete structure with a pre-engineered “mechanical penthouse.” Cladding treatment includes anodized aluminum panels, curtain wall and brick veneer. With completion scheduled for August 2010, the laboratory building is approximately halfway through construction. One of the key tenets of this well-established contractor is the ability to realize the technological advancements proposed at the design stage. Among the facility’s advances, the new laboratory building will include a digester to allow for a healthier and more environmentally sustainable alternative to animal carcass disposal. Additionally, a unique monorail system accommodates animal transfers within the building.
