ICE Is Twice As Nice Civil | INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT INC. ICE COVERS THE DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION SECTORS. BY KATHRYN JONES ounded in 1974 by Dick Morris, Tom Cunningham and Bob Vincent, International Construction Equipment (ICE®) Inc.’s experience, innovation and reliability have earned the Matthews, N.C.-based company a leading position as North America’s largest manufacturer of pile driving and drilling equipment. Utilizing their foundation industry experience, the three partners’ initial focus was to design and build vibratory pile drivers that maintained full speed during hard driving by turning as much eccentric moment as possible at 1,600 vibrations per minute, while not requiring any additional horsepower. Its innovations in vibratory hammers, impact hammers and others propelled the company’s growth both domestically and internationally. ICE expanded into the European market in 1977 when it opened International Construction Equipment BV in The Netherlands. ICE Far East Pte Ltd. was formed in Singapore in 1982 to serve the foundation industry in the Far East and now owns ICE Far East Sdn. Bhn. in Malaysia. ICE APAC in China was established in 2003. Today, the company has more than 11 global dealers that manage 30 regional sales and service centers. “ICE is recognized worldwide as a leader in the vibratory hammer and drilling markets,” says Operations Manager and shareholder Christian Cunningham. “We continue to expand our global footprint through the addition of dealers in the European and Asian markets.” He adds that the company intends to continue its presence in the Far East, Central America and South America in the years ahead. leader in the »ICE is recognized as a worldwide vibratory pile development and manufacturing of foundation equipment, including drivers, the company says. We have one of the largest fleets of foundation equipment in the United States, which will float around the country based on the contractors’ project needs.
