T he Novo Nordisk headquarters project in Plainsboro, N.J., is a hallmark for Project Manager Keith Bergen. “Preplanning and logistics management are keys,” Bergen says. “For a job of this magnitude and complexity, it’s all about making sure you have the right people, skills and expertise in all the right places. It’s a challenge and a reward every day.” For Bergen’s employer, Structure Tone, the project is also a highlight. The $215 million redevelopment and construction program will transform an existing office building into the new headquarters for Novo Nordisk Inc. The pharmaceuticals giant best known for its diabetes medication has partnered with property owner LCOR, Ivy Equities and Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. for the development.
