Not only is it seeing advances in technology, but also healthcare environments are becoming more comfortable for patients. The renovation of the healthcare center at The Village at Rockville – A National Lutheran Community (TVAR), a retirement community in Rockville, Md., reflects this trend. Lincolnshire, Ill.-based ARCH Consultants Ltd. is managing the construction project for TVAR, which is sponsored by parent organization National Lutheran Communities & Services (NLCS). According to NLCS Director of Public Relations Courtney Malengo, the community was originally built in 1890 in Washington, D.C. In 1980, the community moved to Rockville to build a 300-bed skilled nursing facility with 144 independent living cottages.
