BY STACI DAVIDSON he global economic recession has yielded many sad stories in the past few years, too many to count, in fact. For Scaparotti Construction Group (SCG), however, the recession and other outside factors led to major change for the operation, which, although daunting, prepared the team for the success it is enjoying now. Those two events really impacted our business, and forced R.P. Carbone into Chapter 11.” In 2009, Scaparotti and Ross Carbone, the Scaparotti Construction Group • Headquarters: Cleveland • Employees: 40 • Specialty: Construction management “Relationships are important now more than ever, because the selection process depends on your qualifications and whether you provide the best value.” –Michael Scaparotti, president former president of R. P. Carbone, acquired all of R.P. Carbone’s assets, including employees and contracts, and named the new company the Scaparotti Construction Group. At that time, most of R.P.
