Based in Chester, N.Y., BK Tile & Stone is a union contractor working throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, N.Y., and New Jersey. The company primarily works in the retail, restaurant, municipal and educational markets, and its vast experience and responsiveness to customers have allowed it to grow significantly in recent years. Darmstadter explains that from 2014 to 2015, BK Tile & Stone grew by 173 percent; from 2015 to 2016 it grew by more than 61 percent; and from 2016 to 2017 it expanded by 26 percent. This year, the company is well on its way to surpass the level of volume it completed last year, he notes. "We are growing very rapidly, and a lot of these projects are major firsts for us," he says. "We are adjusting well, and it's great that we have been able to maintain the growth we've had, and we've been handling it very well, considering how rapid it has been."
