The project will have 500
high-end apartments above
six floors of parking spaces.
The 47th floor will encompass a state-of-art fitness center with
outdoor and indoor yoga studios, green landscapes and a walking
area that leads up to a 7-foot-high transparent screen wall with a
view of the city. The anticipated move-in date for its first residents
is spring 2019.
Demonstrating the spirit of a good neighbor, Walsh Construction has
met with local building owners, community groups and subcontractors to discuss hiring opportunities and ensure safe working conditions. The company also employs a full-time safety representative to
be on-site, as well as its senior superintendent, Jon Olsen.
"One of the challenges about this project is that it's a property line
to property line job," Chura says. "And that creates access challenges
and challenges with neighboring properties. So we do a lot of preplanning to make sure we are a good neighbor and that we provide a
culture of safety."
Walsh Construction has numerous high-rise projects that have
become fixtures in the Chicago skyline. That includes The Legacy
at Millennium Park, a 72-story mixed-use building that combines
retail, academic and residential space in the heart of Chicago.
Another project, AMLI River North, is 50-story apartment building
that's nestled just minutes away from the shores of Lake Michigan,
Grant Park and Millennium Park and surrounded by Broadway-style
theaters, world-renowned museums, prominent Illinois colleges and
a vibrant dining scene.
At 2550 Lakeview, Walsh Construction built a 40-story condo
