work on the Community College
of Philadelphia's first-ever residential housing development.
Construction began in spring 2017 on the
Hamilton, a $129 million, 504,000-squarefoot mixed-use development on the college's
campus near the city's Museum District
neighborhood. The project consists of two
phases, the first being a 10-story building
with 290 units that is anticipated to open
this fall. The second phase of the project is a
16-story, 210-unit building; work will begin
after the completion of the first tower.

The project will also include a
3,300-square-foot ground floor retail space,
a community plaza/garden, underground
parking and residential amenities including a fitness center, game room, library,
communal kitchen and a rooftop deck with
views of downtown Philadelphia.
The Hamilton's studio, one-bedroom
and two-bedroom apartments will be
marketed to students attending the Community College of Philadelphia, as well
as young professionals and students of
nearby Drexel University's medicine and
