Although not one of Marretti's newest
products, glass cantilever staircases are a
big seller. "Hands down, these staircases
are really popular, especially in the United
States," Marzi says. "Everybody seems to
want a glass staircase and one of the most
popular is the cantilever glass, a type of
floating glass staircase with a banister."
Though floating staircases can be constructed from any element, glass is the most
popular because its transparent and reflective nature easily creates a float-like feeling
within the design. Stairs with floating treads
also have hidden attachments that make
them look like they are floating.
Spiral staircases are a big seller

Like the Compon, Marretti's cantilever
staircases also have a patented wall fastening system with steel pins and are certified
for a total capacity of 150 kilograms (330

The glass that forms each step is toughened and laminated with a thickness of 32

Most staircases are known for their sharp
edges and corners, but spiral staircases
generally feature organic shapes that are
softer and more rounded. Not only are these
staircases organic in shape, they can help
improve the flow of a room.
Spiral staircases are another big seller for
Marretti Stairs. The company has a variety
of different models - all of which can be
modified to the customer's specifications.
They can be made from wood, glass, resin,
steel, stone, marble or fitted with carpet.
"Most people think of spiral staircases in
general terms, but we can do many wonderful things with the staircases," Marzi says.
Marretti Stairs offers spiral staircases with
petal-shaped steps or even mixed staircases
that feature both rectangular and curved
shapes. A popular model in this category is
the Piuma. It's a helix-shaped lightweight
spiral that comes with a stainless steel core
with extra-clear shaped structural glass
steps and a stainless steel handrail. The Piuma, which means "feather" in Italian, can
also come with an illuminated central pole.
"Then we have a classic spiral staircase
with glass steps, stainless steel banister and
central pole," Marzi says. "That is one of our
top sellers in the United States."
For those that desire a spiral staircase
with a more classic geometrical shape,
Marretti Stairs offers a square-shaped spiral
with ultra-clear structural glass steps.
