until The Holland Companies purchased it
Today, the company is transforming the
building into 12 contemporary residences called The Jordan Lofts. The Holland
Companies started construction of the
million-dollar project in August, and anticipates completion spring 2018.
"The majority of the infrastructure was
completed in phase one," Holland explains.
"At this point, we're really just framing a
6,000-square-foot penthouse addition to
the roof. It's also been approved for three

residential units, underground parking and more
than 30,000 square feet of commercial space.
Holland notes that The Holland Companies is only one of the firms in Boston that is
helping to revitalize SoWa. "GTI Properties
has been working here for years to do just
that, especially around 477 Harrison Ave,"
he says. "We're just adding to the revitalization by transforming an underutilized
building that was vacant."
Additionally, real estate developer The
Abbey Group recently revealed plans to
develop Exchange South End, a more
than 1-million-square-foot life science
and technology office campus that could
cost over $1 billion to develop. The Abbey
Group has proposed the project at the 5.6acre Boston Flower Exchange site, which it
bought in 2016. "This site is being presented to Amazon for relocation," Holland
says. "There's a lot of activity happening in
