and Purdue University
embarked on a $120 million
partnership to redevelop
State Street in 2015, officials imagined the
area just east of campus, Chauncey Hill,
would soon become a proper downtown.
But development is occurring even faster
than most could have hoped for, with several student housing high-rise projects now
announced, including one that promises to
bring a proven brand of luxury living to the
Big Ten school.
Construction began on The Hub at West
Lafayette earlier this year. At 11 stories, the
apartment complex will become the second-tallest building in West Lafayette, large
enough to house 289 units and 599 beds.
The development is a joint venture between
Core Spaces and Up Campus Properties.

302,131-square-foot building at the corner
of Pierce Street and Wood Street, about
two blocks from the entrance of Purdue's
campus and less than a block from Harry's
Chocolate Shop, a famed drinking hole for
