The company is bringing its expertise to a new north campus for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) in Frisco, Texas. Scheduled to open in fall 2018, the campus will stand five stories and cover 345,000 square feet. TSRHC wants to meet the growing need for patient care in North Texas with the building. "Currently, approximately 25 96 CONSTRUCTION-TODAY.COM JUNE 2017 percent of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children's patient population comes from cities north of Dallas, so it hopes to ease some of the travel burden on current patients as well," it says. The campus will operate as an ambulatory care center that provides clinics and day-surgeries for children with orthopedic issues, TSRHC says. The Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine will anchor the facility, providing treatment for sports-related orthopedic conditions and concussions. The facility also will feature a movement science center, physical and occupational therapy services, playing fields, a walking and running trail, and a playground park. "What Scottish Rite Hospital is bringing to our community is really important," Mayor Maher Maso said in a statement. "We are so pleased to have the hospital as a community partner, helping create a bright future for our city and our children."
