FRED WEBER INC. REMAINS DEDICATED TO ITS FOUNDER'S PRINCIPLES.
red Weber Inc. believes the four
essential elements of people, equipment, resources and image drive
not only its success, but also the success of any company. These core principles
were formally established by the material
contractor in 1988, but have guided it since
founder and namesake Fred Weber Sr.
started the company 60 years earlier after
he bought his first five-ton dumpster truck.
The company quickly grew because of
Weber's philosophy of "bringing professionals together and giving them the tools to get
the job done," it says.
Weber's son, Fred Weber Jr., advanced
the company even further after he assumed
control following his father's passing. "Starting with the quarrying operations, then

and others, [Fred Weber, Jr.] pushed each
area to make it the best producer with the
lowest possible cost," the company says, adding that he was also responsible for making
materials a major part of the company.
In 1974, Fred Weber Jr. sold the company to a family member, John Weber. The
company has been employee-owned since
1986, after John Weber sold the company to
a management group that had formed an
employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
Today, the Maryland Heights, Mo.-headquartered company is a full-service material
contractor that supplies various grades of
crushed stone, sand, asphalt and concrete.
Fred Weber Inc. operates eight modern limestone quarries, 11 hot mix asphalt facilities,
two high-capacity portable drum mix plants,
four sand facilities and a trap rock quarry.
